Key takeaways
- The TIMO360 agent runs on Windows 10 or later (64-bit), macOS 12 or later, and Linux x86_64 distributions with a desktop session.
- Each employee enrolls with a single-use code that expires after one day.
- On macOS, declining Screen Recording permission only removes window-title detail.
Few companies run a single operating system. Designers use Macs, developers use Linux, and finance runs Windows. Cross-platform employee monitoring across Linux, Mac and Windows therefore needs a plan for each. Here is what to check.
Supported systems
Windows: Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.
macOS: macOS 12 Monterey or later, on Apple silicon and Intel.
Linux: any x86_64 distribution with a desktop session.
Download links for each are on the download page.
Enrolling each device
Adding an employee sends an invite with a single-use enrollment code and a download link. The employee installs the agent for their system and enters the code, which expires after one day. If it lapses, resend the invite from the employee's page.
The macOS permission
macOS asks for Screen Recording permission before any app can read window titles. Employees choose whether to grant it. Declining only removes window-title detail, and the agent still takes no screenshots and records no screen. Tell Mac users about the prompt ahead of time so the operating system's wording does not alarm them.
After the install
Check the Devices page for each employee's agent version and last seen time.
Watch for devices that stop reporting: a silent device shows as offline after two minutes.
Follow up on anyone stuck at Invite pending or Device linked.
Same data on every system
Whatever the system, the agent reports the same active and idle signals, so reports are comparable across the whole team.
Read enrolling and managing employee devices, window titles and browser domains and devices.
