Key takeaways
- A break pauses tracking, so time away is never counted as idle.
- Meeting time counts as active time even with no keyboard or mouse input.
- No application names or window titles are recorded during a meeting.
Time away from the keyboard is not time off the clock. A good record has to tell apart three situations that look similar to a simple tracker: someone stepping away on a break, someone in a long call and someone who is actually idle.
Breaks
Employees start a break from the desktop agent and end it when they return, with an optional reason such as lunch or a doctor appointment. While a break is running, nothing is tracked. Break time is recorded separately from idle time, and the agent shows the day's break total. It does not cap break time.
Meetings
Employees mark a meeting from the agent, with an optional description such as sprint planning or a client call. That time counts as active even when nobody is touching the keyboard. While a meeting is running, no application or window detail is recorded.
If someone forgets to end one
Open breaks and meetings are closed automatically at local midnight in your organization's timezone, so a forgotten click does not distort the next day.
What the reports show
Reports include Break and Meeting columns next to Working and Idle time, and can be exported as CSV, Excel or PDF. Managers see the full day without anyone editing entries by hand.
